What would happen to my life if cancer struck me today?
Let me tell you. I was diagnosed with esthesioneuroblastoma in 2008. It is a rare form of brain cancer. I nearly died. The financial impact of this disease was no comparison to the emotional toll it took on my husband and three children.
Just two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Working online has allowed me to have a small income but the hours that are flexible to allow me to undergo surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and the seemingly endless doctor's appointments.
We have a 2200 square foot home, one economy car, no ski trips, no vacation since 1990...Though my family and I have been struck with cancer during my earning years, I have been able to give them something money cannot buy.
That is the example of strength and hope despite the challenge of battling two cancers. And most importantly -my love.
