Guide

Hello sexy45,

Each of us is unique. We react differently to the same situation. Some of us will grieve longer while others appear to have moved on. Grieving is a very personal experience. Some display their emotional openly, while others suppress their feelings.

There is no set timetable for how long you should grieve for your friend. If she was a close friend, you will continue to miss her for a long time.

You should only be alarmed if your grieving begins to negatively impact your ability to function or you notice that you are becoming depressed. This is when you need to seek help.

My mother has been dead for nineteen years and I still miss her, especially during the holidays or on special occasions like my daughter's wedding day or my son's graduation day. It is okay to miss someone whom you loved, had great times with or grew up together.

Please stay in touch and reach out if ever you need to express your feelings. Think of us as the no judgement zone.
