Guide

Hello Brionna,

I think it is very important for elderly family members and their children to begin the conversation about living options long before it becomes an emergency situation.

An elderly individual must have a voice in the decision. It should not be forced upon him or her unless he or she is mentally incompetent or physically compromised.

Assisted living facilities, elderly oriented communities, and home health aides are options to consider. My 92 year old grandmother was able to remain in her home with the loving care provided by two home health aides, who each worked a 12 hour shift.
