Guide

Hello Anonymous,

I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us to get clarification regarding your possible pregnancy.

A pregnancy test checks hCG levels. This hormone is produced by the cells that form the placenta. Levels are detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception.

Anonymous, you can trust the negative test results since you tested four weeks following possible conception. Levels of hCG would have been detectable by then. Also, if you followed the directions, the tests were not expired, and you tested using the first urine of the morning. the results are accurate.

Your physician is correct that the withdrawal bleeding is a side effect of taking your birth control pill late.

Did your doctor prescribe an antibiotic to treat the UTI? You may feel better once the infection has cleared.

Regards,
Maryann
