I am so sorry to hear how much you are stressing over being apart from your husband. It is possible that the small amount of light brown vaginal discharge is an indication that your period may start soon.
Though it is easy for me to say, please try to relax and not worry about your period being late. I strongly suspect that stress is delaying the start of your period. However, if you are late by one month, you could always take a home pregnancy test.
