Since you have never had this type of period before, have been trying to conceive and your period was late by four days, I am wondering if this might have been a very early miscarriage. Passing what looked like tissue and small clots along with abdominal cramping makes me wonder.
Consider speaking with your gynecologist, who is more knowledgeable and can better advise you.
