Guide

Hello Anonymous,

The chance that pregnancy will occur depends not only on how many pills you missed but in your cycle those pills were missed. The risk is greatest when active pills, which are the pills that contain hormones, are missed at the beginning of or at the end of the active pills.

Did you miss taking your active pills at the beginning of the pack or at the end of the pack, just before you would have started taking the inactive pills?

A general rule of thumb: never take fewer than 21 consecutive active pills and never have than 7 consecutive pill-free days between active pill taking periods.
