Guide

Hello John,

Several things may be causing your symptoms.

Nocturnal bruxism or grinding your teeth while you sleep could be the cause of the jaw pain.

Gingivitis which is a form of periodontal disease could be the cause of changes in your gums. Periodontal disease is inflammation and infection that destroys the tissues that support the teeth. Gingivitis results from long term plaque deposits on your teeth.

Headaches are just one symptom of temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Injury to the jaw, temporomandibular joint, or muscles of the head and neck can cause TMD.

John, you need to schedule an appointment with your dentist. Evaluation can determine the exact cause of your symptoms. With a diagnosis, proper treatment can be started.

Regards,
Maryann
