I don't think so. Going through menopause, which is referred to as perimenopause, is a natural transition in a woman's reproductive life.
As a result of fluctuations in estrogen levels, some women experience hot flashes which contribute to sleep problems, mood changes such as increased irritability, and vaginal atrophy characterized by vaginal dryness. Vaginal dryness makes sexual intercourse painful.
These changes can have an impact on family relationships. But with understanding and intervention, there should be no permanent changes to those relationships.
