Guide

Hello Anonymous,

I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

At three months into your pregnancy you have completed the first trimester.

By now, your fetus has grown to about 3 inches in length and weighs about an ounce. The genitalia have clearly formed into male or female, but still could not be seen clearly on an ultrasound. The eyelids close and will not reopen until the 28th week of pregnancy. The fetus can make a fist, and the buds for baby teeth appear. The head is nearly half the size of the entire fetus.

During weeks 17 through 20 of your pregnancy, you might be able to feel your baby's first movements, also known as quickening. If you've been pregnant before, you might have begun feeling your baby's movements a few weeks ago.

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy,
Maryann
