I think you might be noticing a swelling of your labia and not your vagina following sex.

The labia are the externally visible portions of the vulva.There are two pairs of labia: the outer labia, or labia majora are larger and fattier, while the labia minora are folds of skin between the outer labia. The labia surround and protect the clitoris and the openings of the vagina and urethra.

The vagina is an elastic, muscular canal with a soft, flexible lining that provides lubrication and sensation. The vagina connects the uterus to the outside of your body. The vulva and labia form the entrance, and the cervix of the uterus protrudes into the vagina, forming the interior end.

Not enough lubrication and very aggressive thrusting could be reasons for the swelling.
