Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for seeking our help with your question about possibly being pregnant.

As you know, the menstrual cycle, is counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. Ovulation can be calculated by starting with the first day of the last menstrual period or by calculating 12-16 days from the next expected period.

You have a 31 to 34 day menstrual cycle. You could have ovulated
around September 11 to 13.

An egg lives 12-24 hours after leaving the ovary. Healthy sperm can survive up to 5 days after ejaculation in the woman’s reproductive tract.

To have become pregnant, you would have to have had unprotected sex either five days before September 11, or between September 11 and September 15. This is just an estimate.

Unprotected sex on September 22 and 23 was too late and spotting on September 23 was too early for implantation bleeding. The time required for the egg to travel to the uterus and implant is usually between 7 and 10 days.

Anonymous, did you have unprotected sex earlier in the month of September, following your last period?

Regards,
Maryann
