Old blood with appear very dark in color, almost black. I am guessing that the two days of blackish vaginal discharge was remnants of your last period in September.
I suggest you schedule an appointment with your gynecologist. It will be the opportunity to determine the cause of recent changes in your menstrual cycle and discuss your plans to become pregnant.
