Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern about the possible risk for pregnancy.

Having unprotected sex carries the risk of pregnancy. You are most likely to become pregnant when you have unprotected sex during your fertile period, which is five days before and includes the day of ovulation.

If you have a regular monthly menstrual cycle of about 28 to 30 days, you will be ovulating around December 19. If you have a shorter cycle, you could ovulate sooner.

If your next period is late by at least seven days, then test for pregnancy. Levels of hCG, which is the hormone produced by the cells that form the placenta, can be detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception.

Regards,
Maryann
