Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you came to us. It sounds like you have a urinary tract infection (UTI).
The most commonly reported symptoms include pain or burning during urination, the need to urinate frequently, and a need to urinate immediately, as soon as any urine collects in the bladder.
You must contact your primary care physician. You can expect to be asked to give a urine sample, which will be tested for the presence of bacteria that cause a UTI. Once it is determined that you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe antibiotics.
Left untreated, a urinary tract infection can set you up for recurrent infections and put you at risk for an acute or chronic kidney infection called pyelonephritis, which leads to permanent kidney damage.
