Hello Anonymous,

Welcome back to EmpowHER and thank you for seeking our advice.

For the benefit of all our readers,
Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication that fights infections caused by fungus. This medicine should be used only when you cannot use other antifungal medications. Ketoconazole can cause serious harm to your liver that may result in liver transplant or cause death.

Secnidazole is an antiamoebic agent, prescribed for giardiasis and amoebiasis. Giardiasis is an intestinal infection caused by a microscopic parasite that's found worldwide, especially in areas with poor sanitation and unsafe water. Amoebiasis is a type of gastroenteritis (gastro) caused by a tiny parasite, Entamoeba histolytica, which infects the bowel.

Levofloxacin is a broad spectrum antibiotic prescribed to treat a range of infections including acute bacterial sinusitis to complicated urinary tract infections caused by specific bacteria.

Anonymous, based on the medications that you have been prescribed, it sounds like you are being treated for more than a yeast infection.

Recurrent vaginal yeast infections cause the internal vaginal flora to become unbalanced which may make it harder for the sperm to reach the uterus. Sperm is not killed by overgrowth of Candida, but because the infection changes the consistency of the cervical mucous, it may make it more difficult for the sperm to reach the cervical opening.

I suggest you discuss your inability to conceive with your primary care physician, who knows your medical history and who prescribed these medications.

Regards,
Maryann
