Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question.Since you missed only one birth control pill and have continue to take your daily pill as directed, I do think you are protected against pregnancy.
In the future, If you forget to take ONE pill, or start your new pack one day late, you should take the pill you missed as soon as possible, even if this means taking two pills at the same time. Then continue taking the rest of the pack as normal.
Are you near the seven day break when you do not take a pill? Or are you currently on the seven day break? That would explain the spotting.
