I can understand your anxiety after getting a callback from your doctor's office. That's never easy and I say that from experience. I understand how the waiting can be both frustrating and stressful.
If there was cause or signs indicating the need for an immediate/urgent appointment they have protocol they are required to follow. A lot of times the additional test is more of a precautionary further look.
Some women have dense breast (I'm one of them), which increases the need to have an ultrasound done because the ultrasound technology is more effective in examining breast health than with the mammogram test alone.
I would call your doctor's office and ask that you be notified of any appointment cancellations just in case there is a chance you can get in earlier. Also, I would share with your doctor's office the aching sensation you are feeling in your right armpit.
In the meantime, take a few deep relaxing breaths and try to remain calm. I don't want you to make yourself sick with worry.
