Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. You know that Plan B was effective in preventing a pregnancy on February 17 because you had vaginal bleeding a few days later.

How long ago did you take that previous dose of Plan B? Was it more than one month before the dose taken on February 19?

As you may now realize, there was no need to take Plan B because you would not have been ovulating three days after your period finished.

Changes in the menstrual cycle are a side effect of emergency contraceptives. The next period can start earlier or later than expected, but not by more than five days.

I suggest you contact your gynecologist. The delay in the start of your period is longer than expected and should be evaluated by a physician.

Regards,
Maryann
