Are you currently taking birth control pills? If you are having your period, then you should be taking the inactive pills.
Having sexual intercourse while you have your period will not cause any damage to your body. You will notice blood while having intercourse. This is menstrual or period flow.
Again, if the pill you are referring to is your birth control pill, you should continue taking the inactive pills and start a new pack once your period is done.
