As a mother of three young adults, I speak to you as a mother. At 16 years of age, you are still very young and will mature with each passing year. It is understandable that your boyfriend is the great love of your life.
But, people change and what once appeared a challenge to him, like you losing your virginity with him, is no longer a challenge but a conquest.
You are right that a relationship needs to be based on more than sexual attraction.
My advice is to take a break from each other. Maybe, when you are not available, he might be drawn back.
