Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern.

Clitoral pain is a specific subset of vulvodynia. Vulvodynia is chronic vulvar pain without an identifiable cause.

Pain is very localized and feels more like an ache than burning. Aggressive stimulation to the area, tight clothing and straddling injury can lead to clitoral pain. Pain is noted with intercourse, tight clothing, and exercise. Stress usually is noted to aggravate the pain. Sometimes sitting increases the pain.

Anonymous, if the pain persists, worsens or interferes with daily living, please contact your gynecologist to schedule an appointment.

Regards,
Maryann
