Guide

Hello Pompano11,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about a late period.

Take Action is the generic form of Plan B and contains 1.5 mg of levonorgestrel.

Since you had light vaginal bleeding a few days later, it appears the pill was effective in preventing pregnancy.

Some women experience changes in their menstrual cycles as a side effect of taking an emergency contraceptive. This might explain why your period is late by eight days.

If your period does not start in another week, please consult your physician.

Regards,
Maryann
