Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about eye pain.

Have you spoken to your eye doctor about this? Any pain that persists or worsens must be evaluated by a physician.

For the benefit of all our readers, amblyopia, which is commonly referred to as lazy eye, is decreased vision that results from abnormal visual development in infancy and early childhood. Although lazy eye usually affects only one eye, it can affect both eyes. Lazy eye is the leading cause of decreased vision among children. Left untreated, vision loss may range from mild to severe.

Usually doctors can correct lazy eye with eye patches, eyedrops, and glasses or contact lenses. Sometimes lazy eye requires surgical treatment.

Eye pain is not a symptom of this condition. Something else must be causing the pain. Please call your ophthalmologist today.

Regards,
Maryann
