Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question. Postinor 2 works by preventing ovulation and causing changes in the cervical mucus to make it harder for sperm to reach the released egg. It is most effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

If you are absolutely certain that you ovulated three days after taking the pill, then Postinor 2 did not prevent ovulation.

Inside a woman's body, sperm can live for up to five days depending on the conditions. If you have unprotected sex even a few days before you ovulate, there is a chance of achieving a pregnancy.

There is a chance that Postinor 2 caused changes in your cervical mucus to prevent sperm from fertilizing an egg once you did ovulate.

Anonymous, the only way to know whether or not you became pregnant is to wait for vaginal bleeding to occur. If you do not have any bleeding within three weeks, please take a home pregnancy test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning and use the first urine of the day.

Regards,
Maryann
