Guide

Hi Jademariee32245755,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

You could be at risk for unintended pregnancy because you didn't overlap your birth control. Typically when you change from one birth control method to another, overlap is used to give the new method of birth control time to start working prior to discontinuing the old one. If you do not want to use the overlap method, a backup form of birth control can be used like condoms.

In addition, the risk increased due your missing a pill after unprotected sex during the switch of birth control.

At this point, you have to wait and see what happens with your menstrual cycle. Don't be surprised if your menstrual cycle is irregular, that is to be expected.

I hope this helps.

Be well,
~Gillette
