Guide

Hello anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad that you reached out to us for advice.

Your response is nothing to worry about nor is it abnormal. Consider your age. At 18, you have the rest of your life ahead of you. Right now, I understand, this young man is the love of your life. You see yourself with him for the rest of your life.

Anonymous, that is not realistic. People changes as they mature. The person each of you are now is most likely not who you will be in ten or 20 years.

I am assuming this is the only boyfriend you have ever had. At age 12, you were still children.

There are two factors that I can think of which can be affecting your low libido or desire to have sex. One is a fear of becoming pregnant. The other rests on how you were raised. In some families, because of cultural or religious beliefs, a person does not have sexual intercourse until marriage.

Anonymous, take your time. Enjoying your youth. There is plenty of time for sexual intercourse. But please if you continue to be sexually active, you must start using birth control properly and regularly.

Regards,
Maryann
