Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and I am glad you reached out to us with your questions.

It is far to early to have any signs of early pregnancy or to test for pregnancy.

It can take a fertilized egg six to 12 days to implant itself in the lining of the uterus. The hormone, hCG, which is produced only during pregnancy can be detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception and in blood, about 11 days following conception.

i-pill should be taken not later than 72 hours after unprotected sex to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
i-pill contains levonorgestrel 1.5 mg, a progestogen which helps prevent the implantation of the egg in the uterus and avoids the beginning of pregnancy.

If you took the pill more than 72 hours or 3 days after having unprotected intercourse, then no, it was not effective.

Anonymous, you must wait and if your period is late by more than seven days, then take a home pregnancy test. Test first thing in the morning and use the first urine of the day. Read and follow the directions carefully. Check that the test is not expired. Buy a name brand product

Regards,
Maryann
