Guide

Hello gayathri298,

Emergency contraceptives do cause vaginal bleeding. That is the way you know that the pill worked and pregnancy was prevented.

You will know that this is either bleeding caused by the pill, or your normal monthly period, if the bleeding continues, and increases to a flow. Implantation bleeding occurs about six to 12 days following conception, is pink of brown spotting and goes away on its own. It never increases to a flow. It does not happen with every pregnancy.

I do not think there is a need for you to have a blood pregnancy test.
Remember, you will need to go either to your doctor's office, clinic or hospital to have the blood drawn and test done. It will cost you at least $100.

Regards,
Maryann
