Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us for information regarding any correlation between the menstrual cycle, dental procedure, antibiotics and analgesics.
From what I can tell, antibiotics prescribed following a root canal treatment should not have any effect on your menstrual cycle. Likewise, any anesthetic agent used during the procedure or the dental procedures should have had no impact on your period being late.
I could find no evidence that pain killers cause changes in the menstrual cycle. Antipsychotic drugs, antidepressants, corticosteroids and chemotherapeutic drugs can cause a missed period.
Anonymous, I can only suggest you speak with your oral surgeon or the pharmacist. If your period does not start in the next week or so, repeat the test and contact your gynecologist.
