Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us for an answer. But, with such limited information, it is like completing a puzzle with only two pieces. You need to contact your primary care physician who knows your age, medical history, any prescribed medications and can do a physical examination with diagnostic testing.

Anonymous, do you notice the blood when you wipe following urination or a bowel movement?
Is there blood in the bowel after voiding or a bowel movement? Is it bright red blood or dark brown?

People generally become aware of rectal bleeding when they notice spots of blood on toilet paper or in underwear, or when a few drops of blood turn the water in the toilet bowl pink. Often these are tell-tale signs of hemorrhoids or an anal fissure, which is a small tear in the anus.

Regards,
Maryann
