There are a number of reasons why this could be happening like; dramatic weight change, extreme exercise, stress, illness and/or medication, reaction to contraceptive pills, but hormonal imbalance is the most common reason.
Are you experiencing heavy bleeding and/or more painful cramping than normal? Any large clots passing?
There are some instances where two menstrual cycles in one month can indicate something more serious going on. To be on the safe side, anytime you notice any changes to your normal menstrual cycle you should consult your doctor.
