Hello Love315,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern. I think I can help put your mind at ease.

The bleeding proves that you are not pregnant. Plan B contains a high dose of the synthetic hormone called levonorgestrel. Levonorgestrel is a progestin. Exactly how it works is not known. It may prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation, altering transport of sperm or eggs to prevent fertilization, or altering the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation should fertilization occur.

Love315, it is possible that Plan B increased the flow of your period. Just try to relax and wait for the bleeding to stop. This is not implantation bleeding. But, a heavier flow, which is a side effect of the pill. If you are still concerned, please reach out to your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
