Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community for help with your question about blurred vision and possible causes.

As the day has progressed, are you still having blurred vision? How long after waking up did it last? If it has gone away, did you do any thing such as eat or have some water, coffee or tea to drink?

A lot of people complain of dull (or not so sharp) vision that makes it difficult to see things clearly in the morning. Blurry vision in the morning is mostly a result of a dried-off tear on the eye surface. Rubbing your eyes or repeated blinking may help in improving the vision.

Sometimes you feel itchiness in eyes with blurry vision in the morning, the reasons could be that you didn’t have a good night’s rest. It makes the visual apparatus of your eyes fatigued and tired, thereby presenting as blurriness of vision.

Certain eye allergies can also cause blurry vision in the morning with other allergy symptoms such as redness and watering of eyes, sneezing, burning and itchy sensation etc. These symptoms can get worse if you have a known allergy to dust or mites.

Anonymous, if you continue to have blurred vision throughout the day, please speak with your physician. Fatigue from traveling may be a cause, but not having your period or losing your virginity.

Regards,
Maryann
