Guide

Hello chrisfernandez989,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. We welcome men and women. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about Plan B and your girlfriend.

Plan B prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. So, it is effective if taken before the woman ovulates. It can also cause changes in the menstrual cycle. The next period could start earlier or later than expected. Flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

Implantation bleeding is pink or brown spotting. It occurs about six to 12 days following conception. It lasts two to three days, never increases to a flow, and goes away on its own.

Watch and see what happens. If this light bleeding is more like a flow and not just spots, it is bleeding caused by taking Plan B. That means she did not become pregnant and no need to test for pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
