Hello Treasuremom,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us with your question if this might be implantation bleeding.

No, it does not sound like it.

Implantation bleeding is spotting, pink or brown in color, lasts about two to three days, and never increases to a flow. It occurs about six to 12 days following conception and happens when the fertilized egg implants in the lining of the uterus.

Not all women experience implantation bleeding.

This sounds more like a change in your normal menstrual cycle. The menstrual cycle is regulated by a precise balance of hormones. Any upset in that balance will cause changes.

Perimenopause, which is a time when estrogen levels fluctuate, can present with changes in the menstrual cycle and irregular periods.

Treasuremom, consider speaking with your gynecologist. Share what has happened. Keep us updated.

Regards,
Maryann
