Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community with your concern of breast pain. I can appreciate your worry about breast cancer. But, breast cancer rarely causes pain.
Are you breast breastfeeding? Did your physician suggest that the pain may in some way be linked to hormones?
There are a number of harmless causes for breast pain and tenderness that may primarily be related to changes in hormone levels. These include menstruation, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and breastfeeding mastitis, which is caused by a milk duct that is not properly draining and becomes infected.
If you are still having pain, contact your physician again.
