To my knowledge, Plan B is effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within 72 hours or three days of contraceptive failure. I do not want to contradict your doctor's prescribing of the pill.
i am going to guess that the spotting was caused by Plan B. But, I am not a physician.
So, consider speaking with your physician rather than reading any more on the internet. It will only cause you more stress. Your gynecologist is your best resource.
