Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us for help.

Missing three active pills in a row, not making up for the missed doses, not using backup protection and having intercourse does put you at risk for becoming pregnant.

The daily dose of an active pills keep your hormones at a level to prevent ovulation. As levels drop by missing doses, your body could ovulate.

Was the bleeding just spotting or heavy enough to use a tampon or pad?

Check with your gynecologist. I would think if you do not have withdrawal bleeding during the placebo week, you should test for pregnant.

Levels of hCG can be detected in urine about six to 12 days following conception. That would take you to two weeks after missing the pills, which should be at or later than your placebo week.

Let us know what happens,
Maryann
