If you are trying to become pregnant, it is best to have unprotected intercourse five days before you are due to ovulate or on the day you ovulate.
For most women, ovulation happens in the middle of the menstrual cycle, that is two weeks before your next period is due. Count the first day of your period as day one. Ovulation can happen around day 14.
