Today is 35 days since my last period on April 07, 2012.
I have symtoms that may be pms or pregnancy. My breast fell tender and sollen, I have lower back pain that comes and go's, I feel very tired and emotiona and I also get pain on my left ovary from time to timel. Is there a possibility I may be pregnant? I took a home test about 4 days ago and it was negative. But these symtoms are driving me nuts!!!

Hi. I am 24 years old. I've been using bcp for almost 2 years, but recently quitted in june. My last menstrual period was june 20. I've had protected sex using condom. I am really worried because today is my 35th day since lmp, but I still haven't got my period. I took preg test yesterday and it says negative. Is it possible that I'm pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Did you start taking birth control pills to prevent pregnancy or to regulate irregular menstrual cycles?

Thirty five days since your last period is a long delay. Speak with your gynecologist, who knows your medical history and can order a blood pregnancy test if necessary.

Maryann

Yes, to prevent pregnancy. I am really worried now. About a week ago, I noticed my vaginal discharge resembles an egg white consistsncy. I haven't been to my gynecologist. Should I test again with home pregnancy kit?

Hello Anonymous,

If you took the first test correctly and got a negative result, I see no reason to repeat the test.

Instead, call and schedule an appointment with your gynecologist.

Hello Anonymous,

Thank you for coming to us for advice. Have you had unprotected sex since your last menstrual period? Prior to this, have your menstrual cycles been regular? When you took the urine pregnancy test, did you test using the first urine of the morning?

Considering your age, and a negative pregnancy test, if taken correctly, I suggest you schedule an appointment with a gynecologist. A problem with your endocrine system may be the cause of the absence of a period. It could be a hormonal imbalance with the hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle or a thyroid gland disorder.

Don't wait. Schedule an appointment today.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Anonymous,

Repeat the test using the first urine of the day. Since your menstrual cycles are regular, the odds of this being late ovulation are slim.

Hello Kirthika,

i think you should be seen by your gynecologist or primary care physician. Blood test may be necessary to make a diagnosis.
