6 Months Post Birth Control and No Sign of Menstrual Cycle

Hi, I was wondering how long does it take to have your menstrual cycle after being on the pill for 5 to 6 years? I am 27 and plan on getting pregnant next year, but this seems impossible right now due to the lack of having my menstrual cycle. Is there any vitamins or over the counter medicine that can jump start my cycles? Also, when should I go see my gyno, I am afraid they will say I have to go longer without menstruating before they can run exams? I am in great shape, exercise daily and eat as clean as I can. No history of any medical problems in my family, aside from glaucoma.

Thank you for your response!

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. For most women it's a two week delay before they ovulate again and it might be several months before your period comes again. If you are experiencing any other unusual symptoms, it might be best to discuss with your OBGYN. Hope this was helpful?

Best,

Daisy
