Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Mask of Pregnancy also referred to as Melasma causes dark splotchy spots to appear on your face. These spots most commonly appear on your forehead and cheeks and are a result of increased pigmentation. When you become pregnant your body produces more hormones, which causes an increase in your pigmentation.  You should see a dermatologist.

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  If you have just experienced dark spots on your face, it is possible that there may be some underlying cause for it. The most likely cause of the appearance of spots on your face is a chemical reaction due to the cosmetics.  The first thing to do when seeking treatment for dark spots on face is to talk to a dermatologist. The dermatologist specializes in skin conditions and can give you a diagnosis for your particular condition. There may be some tests that the dermatologist may ask you to take in order to determine the caused of the dark spots.

Best,

Daisy
