My period was due Sept 30th it did not come until Oct 3rd. (3days late) The flow was heavier than usual but not alarming to where I thought something was wrong. My period continued that way on Oct 4th. I woke up Oct 5 and flow was very light almost gone about 3 hour into the day my period disappeared completely. On Oct 6 today I wake up used the rest room twice in 1 1/2 no blood what so ever then by 7am I felt cramping so I use the rest room and I am bleeding but only when I wipe and it was very light. Nothing was in the toilet bowl what so ever. I dropped my child to school and returned home at 9 and long and behold no period in site. My cycle has never been late and is normally always in tune with my calander. My period last about 4 to 5 days. I was on antibiotics three weeks ago for a toothache and yeast infection. I have had both meds before and nothing affected my cycle. I have take 2 pregnancy test and both were negative. Please help me understand what the problem could be with my first and only child I had a period when I found out I was pregnant and remember being embarrassed to give a urine sample and def didn't think I was pregnant since I was on my cycle. It's been 8 years so I am not sure what is going on with my body.

Hello Len89,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for coming to us with an interesting question.

Was there any thing unusual about your period the previous month? Have you been having unprotected intercourse since your last normal period?

Considering all that you shared, I suggest you contact your gynecologist, who can order a blood pregnancy test. I say this because you were pregnant with your first child and still had a period.

Please keep us updated.

Maryann

Thanks so much Maryann. To answer your question my period last month was perfectly fine and on time. Yes my partner and I have unprotected sex. He never finishes in me. We are both aware this is not 100% safe sex and that precum can impregnate you just as much as regular cum. We have done this whole pull out method for over 2 years and we have been fine. I am going to schedule an appointment as you said and just hope for the best. Also could this be a miscarriage? A few friends said maybe it's not a viable pregnancy and that's the reason behind the negative test and some said just wait a week and take another test.

Hi Len89,

Thank you for getting back to me. I will not venture to guess if this bleeding was a miscarriage. Let's leave that one to your gynecologist.

About pre ejaculate fluid, there is only a chance of it containing sperm if he has had a prior but recent ejaculation. Some sperm can remain in the urethra, which is the tube that carries semen as well as urine. Once he urinates, any remaining sperm is flushed out.

Keep us updated.

Thanks for the advise Maryann. The cycle from last month was normal. Yes my partner and I have had unprotected sex . I checked know my ovulation and it was the same day we had intercourse. I want to note that he never finishes in me. We both know this is not 100% safe sex and precum is just as strong as normal cum. Also we have used this method for 2 1/2 years with no mishaps whatsoever. My cycle has been normal and on time as always. I am just so confused and will definitely make an appointment ASAP. Update I bleed again at 6 and it seem to be a darker red almost brownish but hard to tell. I am over this crazy cycle just want to feel normal. I have also had minor symptoms the past week like lower back pain, sleepy, cranky, and frequent urination. It's so wire
