Hello, I'm new here and I would like to know do you think I'm pregnant? You see my period started Jun 01, 2009 and ended Jun 06, 2009. Well, I had sex on Jun 09 and I felt really tired the next day. I had lost my virginity on Jun 09 and we had sex a couple of times since then during the month of Jun. We also had sex Jul 01, 2009 and today I have not had my period since it ended Jun 06, 2009. for the past week and a half my nipples began to hurt and today my breast became sensitive but I don't have any other symptoms of being pregnant. I tool a dollar pregnancy test this evening and it said negative. My boyfriend and I hope that I am pregant but we're not sure if I am. Do you think I'm pregnant?

Hi Meiko.

Today you are one week late on your period. What is your normal cycle length?

Breast tenderness is a symptom of pregnancy--though being tired the day after sex may be attributed to something else. Getting pregnant is actually not as immediate as most people think it is. You can start to feel the symptoms as early as 8 days after conception but at 1 day your body would still be at work (supposing you were fertile on the day you had sex).

If you took a pregnancy test and it was negative, wait it out a bit. This can seem like the most tedious time, but you don't want to be buying pregnancy tests every day. Your period may just be late, if another week passes take another dollar pregnancy test and if you are still concerned make an appointment with your doctor to get some blood work done.

Good Luck!
