I found a website about Amberen and this all natural product was highly recommended by several people; most of them RN's. Is this product safe to take? Have you ever heard of the product? is it just for women who are in menopause or can someone my age (41) experiencing very minor symptons (weight gain and breast tenderness) take this product?

I am 46 years old and started Menopause about 8 months ago. I refuse to take the medication from the doctor, since it can cause early onset of Alzheimer.
January 11, 2019 - 2:23pmI tried this and it worked for a bit - but after about 4 mos of it - it no longer seems to work. I continue to have hot-flashes and night sweats, as well as being an emotional roller-coaster.
I think it may work great in the beginning, but sooner or late it may stop working. This being said, it could just be my "makeup" and how it works for me?

Hello, Anon.
As with many things, women may respond differently. You might try it again. It should be used for at least 90 days. If symptoms are starting to return, you can go back on Amberen. Or you can remain on it for as long as needed per the information on the Amberen website. If you try it again, I hope your results will be longer lasting.

Is it ok to take at night if you miss the after breakfast dose? I have also considered doubling up because I started waking up at night again with the sweating. Not half as bad as before amberen but still there. Has anyone else doubled up? Did it help or should I not do this?

I have been taking Amberen for 3 years and can't live with out it. It stabilized my moods, which are quit bad, hot-flashes are gone and I can sleep better. What else is there to say about it, it may work for some and not others just as any you put into your body. I don't care what is in it, I am not a raging psycho and trust me I watched my mom go through menopause, got out of the house at 16. Does no hurt to try.

I used Amberen for 2 months and HATED it. After the first month I was sending it back and called them to find out about shipping. They talked me into taking it longer. I didn't have hot flashes before and was worried about weight gain so that is what I used it for. It put me into total menopause with hotflashes every 30 minutes and I gained weight while doing the Insanity workout. I stopped taking that crap about 1.5 weeks ago and am feeling better and lighter. I am waiting for a class action law suit or maybe creating one and have a month of Amberen on Craigslist currently. Wish me luck!

I wouldn't go so far as getting into a lawsuit. I tried it, it didn't benefit me, lesson learned. I am having far greater results from Maca root powder. 2.2 lbs for $25.00. I'm taking a tsp a day, that is 1/2 tsp in morning with breakfast and 1/2 tsp at lunch. This stuff is giving me the results I had hoped that Amberin would and do you know how may teaspoons are in 2.2lbs? Well over 200. That's extremely cost effective. I found it at 4allvitamins.com. Maca powder works with the endrocine system to balance it. Maca is a nutritionally dense super-food that contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and all of the essential amino acids. Maca root is rich in B-vitamins, which are the energy vitamins, and maca is a vegetarian source of B-12. To boot, maca has high levels of bioavailable calcium and magnesium and is great for remineralization. Maca root has been shown to be beneficial for all sorts of hormonal problems including PMS, menopause, and hot flashes. Maca's also a fertility enhancer and is best known for improving libido and sexual function, especially in men. It's sometimes referred to as "nature's Viagra."
