how do you differ these? i mean, i am worried right now. i dont know if its bleeding i had or period. it lasted for 5 days, the first 2 days were strong. is this a period or not? i am worried because in some sites, others claim to have period during pregnancy and also, we did some foreplay. no penetration. we imitated motions of sex, fully clothed both of us. also did some fingering. but we were both cautious not to get any semen on his hand and might accidentally finger me with this hand. so.. could this be bleeding or period? could i get pregnant? :l

thanks a million, rosa! i took a test some days ago and it was negative, but will try again. the problem is that this has been continuing for 1 week. is that too long for implantation bleeding? thank youuuuuuuuuuuu

You're welcome. Since it is continuing and you've tested for pregnancy. It could just be your period coming down or you simply had some old blood (that would explain why it's now brown). If it continues with no sign of an actual period, please see or call your gynecologist.

Best,

Hi Morgana,

Implantation bleeding can occur at about 1 week before your period is due. So if you have had unprotected sex and experienced spotting about a week before you were expecting your period please take a pregnancy test.

Best of luck,

hello, i have a question. i always get my period exactly 14 days after ovulation, starting with 2 days brown spotting. i know when i ovulate as i use a monitor. this month i started spotting (light red) on the eighth day after ovulation. now it has become brown, and it is the 15th day after ovulation. could it be a period arrived early, even though the lutheal phase is supposed to remain constant? or is it implantation bleeding? thank you

Dear Anonymous,

If you are irregular then 35 days is "normal" as long as it lasts anywhere between 3-7 days. What are your concerns? Have you had unprotected sex and think this is causing the bleeding due to a possible pregnancy? If so, you can take a pregnancy test--even though this sounds like a period to me.

Good Luck,

Rosa

Dear Anonymous,

If this bleeding was around the date your period was supposed to come then it is your period. It doesn't make a difference if the first 2 days were heavier than the rest.

Having outer course will not result in pregnancy.

Best,

Rosa
