Hi i just had a baby 6 months ago.. i was complete breast feeding until i stopped almost 3 months ago.. when i stopped i had one regular period and after that i havent had a period for the past 2 months in a row.. my boyfriend and i have had unprotected sex and used the "pull out" method but in this past 2 months when we have sex i happen to bleed sometimes in the intercourse. can i be pregnant or can i have missed my period since i was breast feeding before? Should i be taking a test if something can help i will apreciate it

Dear Anonymous,

Breastfeeding will stop your period and it may also be possible that because you recently started getting your period again due to your recent delivery (Congrats!) that your periods may still be irregular. However, you should be using contraceptives if you're not looking to get pregnant-- because you have been using the pull out method, which is not an effective method of contraception, you should test for pregnancy.

Please keep us posted,

Rosa
