can i have a child even if i only have one tube

i am 21 yeards old i have tried to have a child and never succedded i finaly got prego in the year 2009 but shortly after got sent to the e.r. for horriable pains turns out i had an egopic pregnancy witch led to the doctors haveing to remove one of my tubes now mind u i couldnt have any kids and had been trying for a few years the doctors said sence they didnt catch the egtopic pregnancy n an early stage i could b sterral for the rest of my life....is that true and do u think i would still b able to carry a child or even get pregnante with only one tube please someone help me with my answers i need to know thank u

Hi Hope Hardy,

Thank you for your question. Research suggests that as long as your fallopian tube is healthy and you have both ovaries and continue to ovulate, there is a chance for pregancy. Since you have been trying for a couple years with no success, get a second opinion about your wanting to get pregnant so that your organs can be checked for functionality. In some cases, you may have to try fertility medications but I don't want to assume and your doctor can provide you this information.
