I had my fallopian tubes removed due to multiple etopic pregnancies. I still have my ovaries, so can I still get pregnant?

I am currently recovering from having my 2nd fallopian tube removed-the other was removed a yr ago, both from ectopic pregnancies. Last year I got pregnant while on birth control pills & this year with the Mirena inside my uterus.--I just turned 28, I have 2 amazing children whom I don't take for granted at all! But I'm having a hard time coping with the fact that I may not be able to give them siblings. Upon reading some of these posts I have gained not only hope, but comfort in knowing that there are women who are going through or have gone through what I am experiencing right now. I was feeling very alone for a while....people keep telling me that I already have two & maybe that's just enough for me. And maybe it will be, but I wasn't ready for this....I wanted it to be my choice. And I'm pretty sure I was going to have more, when the time was right....anyway, I wanted to thank you all for posting your stories & to let you know that there is an emotional woman laying in down with her netbook, who appreciates that someone understands her pain....

Be thankful that you have kids!! Think of the women that do not have any kids and can not have kids! I am sympathetic but come on love the kids you have... I real feel sorry for those of us that do not have kids and can not conceive unless we use IVF!

You poor thing I am exactly the same as you. Last December o had my second ectopic and second tube taken. 14th December 2009 to be exact, it was nothing short of horrific. My heart is breaking for you. I have one child he is 14 now I have been trying for 5 years for another. I am heartbroken. I can tell you it becomes easier to handle but never forgotten is it. Horrible. I found myself on this site asking the same questions. I am not sure if there is hope for me. As time is not on my side and I will have to go through ivf again this year (second ectopic was ivf) but I want you to know I lay there with my netbook crying quite often too and you are definitely not alone xxxx

your eggs can and will flow towards the uterus, pregnancy is extremely rare natually, less than 1% that it will ever happen naturally! Life Happens! We can't explain it and it has happened before! that is why when your tubes are tied you will never get a 100% success rate, because life has a way of making it. God has plans we can't control! IVF is the better option, but if someone tells you that it is impossible they are misinformed! Talk many specialists, and don't get your information on blogs, they are NOT fact! Good Luck to all! PRAY! it works!

I had my left fallopian tube removed a year and a half ago for an ectopic pregnancy and I am now naturally pregnant at 7 weeks! My ultrasound tech as well as my doctors are completely baffled because it shows on ultrasound that I ovulated from my left side!! It does happen! And thanks for giving me answer...I figured it was less than 1% of a chance. But none the less, still possible. :)

The surest way to know if she is pregnant is if she misses a period, and if she takes a pregnancy test (home test, or she can request one from her doctor). Good luck and hope you get the result you are looking for.
